The White House Correspondences’ Association (WHCA) Red Carpet Event was held Saturday, April 30, 2016, at the Washington Hilton Hotel in Northwest at 6 p.m. Larry Wilmore, the host of “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore” on Comedy Central, provided the entertainment for the evening. The association also holds an annual dinner to raise money for WHCA scholarships and honor the professional recipients of the WHCA’s Journalism Awards. Proceeds from the White House Correspondents’ Association annual dinner go toward scholarships and awards that recognize aspiring and accomplished journalists.
