THIRD ANNUAL BROCCOLI CITY FESTIVAL IN SOUTHEAST D.C

Millennials from across the D.C. region attended the Third Annual Broccoli City Festival on Saturday, April 30, 2016, from 12 noon to 10 p.m., in Southeast. The festival, created by Brandon McEachern, promotes healthy eating, sustainability and green living among young adults. WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENCES’ ASSOCIATION DINNER AND RED CARPET EVENT (PHOTOS BY PATRICIA LITTLE)

The White House Correspondences’ Association (WHCA) Red Carpet Event was held Saturday, April 30, 2016, at the Washington Hilton Hotel in Northwest at 6 p.m. Larry Wilmore, the host of “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore” on Comedy Central, provided the entertainment for the evening. The association also holds an annual dinner to raise money for WHCA scholarships and honor the professional recipients of the WHCA’s Journalism Awards. Proceeds from the White House Correspondents’ Association annual dinner go toward scholarships and awards that recognize aspiring and accomplished journalists. The event is attended by the President and First Lady, celebrities, politicians, athletes and musicians from across the nation. [read more…]
