The victory marks the first time Bowie State has won the CIAA Tournament title since 2013; it’s the school’s third CIAA championship title. Smith, Virginia Union and Livingstone College before advancing to the championship game against Fayetteville State.

Bowie State receives an automatic bid in the NCAA Division II men’s basketball tournament, which kicks off in March.
