Otto Porter and Jan Vesely to Attend Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for New Court Benefitting Kids in Ward 8
Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation and Hoops for Youth Foundation have teamed up to give Horton’s Kids, a local nonprofit benefiting the children of Washington, D.C.’s, Ward 8, a new outdoor basketball court. The old concrete-paved top has undergone renovation and has been replaced by a modern court that will be unveiled at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 4 p.m. at Horton’s Kids’ Community Resource Center in the Wellington Park neighborhood in Southeast D.C.
Horton’s Kids is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and this event is one of many designed to highlight the impact the organization has had on the community it serves. Additionally, Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) are expected to be on hand to show support and cheer on the new wave of all-stars.
The event is open to the public.
