Batik Master Class Workshop

The Smithsonian's National Museum of African Art has partnered with the Department of Fine and Performing Arts to present a unique opportunity to learn from a master artist about the rich history and technique of batik, the intricate process of decorating cloth with wax and dye. The four-day master class workshop series, led by Nigeria’s pre-eminent batik artist Tunde Odunlade, will take place in the Fine and Performing Arts Center. Odunlade has pioneered a batik method using paper, instead of cloth.
