AmeriHealth Caritas VIP Plans and D.C. Councilwoman Anita Bonds
Team Up to Teach District’s Senior Citizens About Healthy Living and Cooking On a Budget
‘Live Well DC’ Visiting Harvard Towers Apartments on March 26
AmeriHealth Caritas VIP Plans, a national Medicare Advantage managed care organization and part of the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies, is collaborating with District Councilwoman Anita Bonds, D-at large, to help the District’s senior citizens learn how they can live and cook healthier, even on a limited budget. As part of the District’s “Live Well DC” initiative, Bonds and AmeriHealth Caritas VIP Plans are visiting senior residential facilities throughout the District to host health workshops and demonstrations led by Chef Tate (owner of D.C.’s Inspire BBQ) on preparing nutritious meals easily and affordably. AmeriHealth Caritas VIP Plans will also have a representative and an informational kiosk at the events to provide information about the plans’ benefits and services.
The series of programs will culminate with a workshop on Wednesday, March 26 at 1 p.m. at Harvard Towers Apartments, 1845 Harvard St. N.W.
AmeriHealth Caritas VIP Plans offers two products in the District. AmeriHealth VIP Select is a Medicare Advantage plan with prescription drug coverage, open to all people eligible for Medicare. AmeriHealth VIP Care is a Medicare Advantage special needs plan, open to the District’s dual-eligibles, or people who are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid. Both products have zero premiums, minimal copays and innovative programs to help members manage their health and navigate the health care system.
