DeanwoodxDesign (DxD) Festival

IDEA Public Charter High School Field & Wellness Center

From 10:30 am to 5:00 pm

About this event

On Saturday, July 14, DeanwoodxDesign (DxD) launches with a free day-long festival in Deanwood, one of the District's earliest African American communities located in Northeast Washington. The DxD kick off features family-friendly events for all ages and includes interactive art exhibitions, pop out performances, outdoor marketplaces, a music concert, and a self-guided walking tour.

The DxD marketplaces and interactive galleries at three Temporium venues will feature independent Ward 7 and DC-based artisans and crafters selling one-of-a-kind items. Kick off locations include IDEA Public Charter High School, The Fishing School, and the Tubman-Mahan Gallery at The Center for Green Urbanism.

DeanwoodxDesign is a four-month long project that showcases the rich arts, cultural, historical, and green space assets of Deanwood and Ward 7 through a community-wide, intergenerational, and collaborative effort. Free events will take place during the weekends from July 14 through the end of October. For a complete schedule, which is updated weekly, visit www.deanwoodxdesign.com.
