The Harlem Remembrance Foundation, Inc. is proud to present a collection of work from anthropologist and artist, Ella Maria Ray, Ph.D. Dr. Ray is an associate professor of African American Studies at Metropolitan State University of Denver, CO. She earned a B.A. from Colorado College, and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Anthropology from Johns Hopkins Universit. She has studied figurative and conceptual ceramic sculpture independently with Arthur González, Gayla Lemke and Barry Rose.
Dr. Ray will be giving an Artist Talk at the Marlboro Art Gallery, on Thursday, March 5, 2013 during the exhibition grand opening from 6-8 p.m. She will be discussing her work and her unique blend of anthropology, heritage, and visual arts.
