The Bowie State Bulldogs improved their record to 13-11 overall after dropping Lincoln University of Pennsylvania 72-59 in a non-conference contest.
Denzel Mooney led the Lions with a career-high 23 points and four 3-pointers. Mooney shot 8-for-14 from the field and 3-for-5 from the free throw line. Also scoring in double digits for the Lions was Jabyron Wilson who finished with 22 points and 13 rebounds.
The Bulldogs placed three players in double figures including leading scoring Duke Crews. Crews finished with 17 points and eight rebounds. Also scoring double figures were Cassin Diggs (16 points) and Armond Hill (11 points, seven rebounds).
Bryant Leach added seven points for the Lions while Kristin Joyner added three blocks. The Bulldogs won the defensive battle, out-rebounding the Lions 55-44. With much help from Mooney, Lincoln's bench managed to outscore Bowie State 28-23.
Lincoln (Pa.) (7-16) hits the road for their next game, traveling to Richmond (Va.) to play the Virginia Union Panthers at 7:30 p.m.
