New York, NY – Norris McDonald, founder and president of the African American Environmentalist Association, has been named one of Ebony Magazine’s Power 100 in the December 2012 issue.

Ebony selected 100 primary people of influence and game changers who have made vital accomplishments in various fields during the last year.  McDonald was honored for his work and commitment to environmental issues affecting communities of color on Nov. 2 during the first Ebony Power 100 Gala held at the Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.

"I am thrilled to be honored by Ebony magazine, an iconic institution, for my work in the environmental and African American community," said McDonald. "My goal is to provide an African American perspective to environmental policies that directly impact communities of color."

McDonald has participated in the White House Forum on Urban Innovation, testified in support of the Indian Point Energy Center and received the 2012 Green Room Energy and Environmental Leadership Award.
