Forgive me for generalizing, but if you're black, you probably love Tisha Campbell-Martin. Campbell-Martin is best-known for her role in the hit TV show "Martin" in the 1990s (or pronounced "Mar-innnn" for the ebonically-challenged). Tisha was also the star in movies like House Party and School Daze. As pretty as the day is long, Tisha has been entertaining America for at least two decades.

Sadly, Tisha has been diagnosed with Stage 2 Sarcoidosis, an inflammation of the organs, which is the same disease that killed the late Bernie Mac. Death can occur from complications in the lung's, heart or brain, according to experts. BlackDoctor.org says that the disease is 10 times more common in African Americans than whites and twice as likely in black females than males.

"[Being in good] health is really important to me. Right now, I'm [battling] a genetic lung disorder called sarcoidosis, which can go into remission. I'm in Stage II and I'm trying to reverse it," Campbell-Martin told Essence magazine. "I've only got one body and I really want to take care of it by working out and eating right."

I remember first experiencing the brilliance and talent of Tisha Campbell-Martin when she sang on the movie "Little Shop of Horrors." Reflecting on that film, it's clear that she (along with Tichina Arnold) was trained to be a threat in multiple styles of entertainment. She attended Newark Arts High School and stands with the great Whitney Houston as one of the prides of the state of New Jersey.

I was sad to read that things were not all that happy behind the scenes on the tv show, "Martin." In 1996, Campbell-Martin sued Lawrence for sexual harassment. The suit was settled so the crew could shoot the last three episodes of the television show. Campbell-Martin agreed to appear on the show, as long as she was not forced to conduct scenes with Martin Lawrence himself.

Perhaps that explains why the show won't be having a reunion anytime soon.

Without regard to the issues behind-the-scenes, Campbell-Martin is one of the most talented black female performers in America, and I am sure she's going to pull through this with flying colors. Good luck Tisha, (in my best Martin voice) we luuh you gurrrl.

I'm recently diagnosed with this disease. I'm a white female so it's an illness that affects all demographics. I seem to be one of the lucky ones as I have no lung involvement. It's in my liver so bye bye to the booze but so worth it to be healthy. My thoughts are with those that aren't as lucky as I've been.

I wish her well. I was diagnosed about 8 years ago and have been doing pretty good. I have to stay away from loud smells. People who smoke get annoyed when I say that my chest hurts when they smoke....but it's true. God's best to all of us who have this dis-"ease".

My mom died of sarcoid of the lung 42 years ago. Her cousin, lived with it into her 70s and passed last year. I pray for you all. Be of good courage.

@ Stacy Harvey: I got my diagnosis 3 years ago. I was afraid to take prednisone and I did OK without it (checkups, PFTs every 4 or 5 months). A little over a year ago, my doc said I should probably start some treatment, so I went on Plaquenil. It doesn't work as fast as prednisone, but I have had no side effects, my lung function is normal, and it's possible that the disease is no longer active. I was diagnosed at Stage II, I never had severe symptoms, and it's stayed in my lungs. I have also tried to take care of inflammation in my body through diet, exercise, and supplements. Why don't you look into Plaquenil? Best of luck to you and to everyone who has been touched by this disease.

I've had sarcoid of the lungs for about 6 months now. It really isn't so much of the illness, but the meds (prednisone) are a challenge. But I know that Tisha, being the outstanding actress she is, will get through this, just like we all are.

So if someone had over 25 people with Sarcoidosis all having healthy benefits using natural medicines, how would they get this information to Tisha and better yet would she be willing to try it? No it is NOT aden protocol or any other clickbank affiliate marketing. This is real people with real results that will share in person how there Sarcoidosis has changed.

The statistics are wrong. People of all color get hit I the same numbers. I have sarc and have been on the Marshall Protocol for 4 years. I have my life back. Prednisone and methotrexate will kill you. Please, for your own sakes, check out mpkb.org. It could save your life.
