Let us turn then from our focus on problems and obstacles to new ideas and solutions. Every thing that we view as a problem, both in our personal lives and in our nation, we can solve.
Americans are a great people. We have been trailblazers in industry, science, technology, education, arts, sports and music. We can do so again.
Start with yourself and in your own home. Ask yourself what you can do to make America great again. Don't know where to start?
In my book, "Our To Do List- What We Can Do To Help President Obama Rebuild America," I list 41 things we can do to rebuild ourselves and our nation. Get the book and select 1 or 2 that resonate with you, and do them.
If there's a lesson in all that has occurred in the last three years, it's this: We must take personal responsibility for our own lives. We are fully equipped to do this. Change does not start with the government. Change starts with us.
In our hearts. In our minds. What we do as citizens affects our nation.
Let's stop dwelling on what we cannot do and place our focus on what we can do. We can do all things through God who strengthens us.
In the Bible, a man who'd been cripple for 38 years was lying by the pool waiting for someone to help him get in so he could be healed.
Jesus, said to him, "Pick up your mat and walk." And so he did. He had the power to do it all along. It is the same with us. We have the power to make America great again, and it starts within us.
Want a better nation? Become a better you.
