The portraits of 50 of the nation's most distinguished African Americans will be unveiled Oct. 27 at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., during a special exhibition presented by AT&T.
The subjects include National Urban League President & CEO Marc Morial; National Action Network Founder & President and civil rights activist the Rev. Al Sharpton; rapper, producer and entrepreneur Sean "Puffy" Combs; and Nobel Prize and Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Toni Morrison, among others.
Acclaimed portrait photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, in collaboration with Freemind Ventures, captured for The Black List's iconic images of 50 extraordinary individuals who reflect the African-American experience in the 21st century.

The exhibition will include Greenfield-Sanders' large-format fine-art photographs and video interviews that provide insight on the struggles, triumphs and joys of black life and its impact on all of America.
"The goals of The Black List are shared by AT&T and we are very proud to support the exhibition," said Tanya Lombard, AT&T's assistant vice president for public affairs. "We want to create an environment that allows AT&T, one of the nation's most diverse major corporations, to benefit from the inclusion of ideas and solutions that meet the needs of an increasingly diverse customer base."
The Black List captures the core of Greenfield-Sanders subjects by celebrating the sacrifices and achievements of African Americans.
"We wanted to express the individualism and achievement of the personalities behind The Black List, said Greenfield-Sanders. "We are fortunate to have AT&T as a supporter, as we celebrate the 50 portraits together on display for the first time."
Rev. Sharpton, women's rights activist Faye Wattleton; actress LaTanya Richardson; actor and author Hill Harper; "green" economic consultant Majora Carter; and UNCF president and chief executive officer Dr. Michael Lomax are among The Black List subjects attending the exhibition and reception.
