RAMS STAY UNBEATEN WITH BIG WIN OVER BRONCOS
Kameron Smith passed for 211 yards and two touchdowns and running back Darryl Thomas rushed for a season-high 114 yards on 10 carries as Winston-Salem State went on the road for a huge 31-14 win over CIAA preseason favorite Fayetteville State.
The Rams, who improved to a conference best 5-0, dominated the defending CIAA champions on both sides of the ball, rolling up 397 yards of total offense while limiting the Broncos (1-3) to 217 in a game that will go a long way toward determining the CIAA Southern Division champion.

Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas talks to the press on Media Day. Photo by John E.DeFreitas. It’s been several months since the Washington D.C. media corps gathered around Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas and waited in anticipation for Gil to dazzle us with his humor, his personality and his antics.
But the player formerly known as “Agent Zero” presented a completely different face than the one we’ve been used to seeing for the past few years.
For starters, the number zero has been replaced by the number nine on his uniform jersey; he is sporting a thick, full beard; and his joviality from seasons past has been replaced – at least in front of the media – by a serious, somber Arenas who cracked a smile just once during the two hour media day session.
Arenas appeared somber, almost stone faced, perhaps displaying a more serious attitude and a more mature persona than in years past.

" Without my offensive line I wouldn't have any success," said the sophomore from Columbia, South Carolina.
Howard took a 7-0 lead in the second quarter on a 7 play 50 yard drive that took 3:09 off the clock. Brice gained 46 yards on three carries including a 34 yard touchdown to make the score 6-0.
The Bison offense came alive on a 72 yard eight play drive which took 3:52 off the clock with Brice gaining 26 yards on 5 carries and scoring his second touchdown on a 12 yard run to improve the Bison lead to 14-7 in what was one of the most impressive drives of the season this season for
Howard's offense.
TROJANS RALLY TO TAKE DOWN BULLDOGS
Jarred Battle’s 50-yard touchdown pass to Timothy Paulk with 1:07 left in the fourth quarter proved to be the game winner as the Virginia State Trojans came from behind to beat the Bowie State Bulldogs 16-15 in a pivotal Northern Division game yesterday at Bulldogs Stadium.
The Trojans jumped out to an early 7-0 lead on their second possession of the game when Battle ran it in from one yard out to cap a 10-play, 49-yard drive. Bowie State would knot the game at 7-7 on their next possession when Clifton Budd (189 yards total offense, 2 TDs) hooked up with Tariq Jones on a 7-yard touchdown pass with a little over two minutes remaining in the first quarter.

Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabbPhoto by John E. DeFreitas.
McNabb threw for 125 yards and one touchdown, leading the Washington Redskins to a 17-12 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in his first game against his former team.
Michael Vick was forced out in the first quarter with chest and rib injuries in his first start in front of the hometown crowd. Kevin Kolb, who was supposed to be McNabb's successor all along, replaced Vick after losing his starting job because he got hurt in Week 1.
So, the McNabb-Vick showdown turned into the McNabb-Kolb matchup everyone originally anticipated. But this one didn't live up to the hype.
On a field where he made so many dynamic plays throughout his career, McNabb looked more like a game-manager than an elite player. A six-time Pro Bowl pick in 11 seasons with the Eagles, McNabb didn't get much of a chance to showcase his skills because Redskins coach Mike Shanahan stuck with a conservative approach and relied on the ground attack.
"You get into a throwing game specially here, in this environment with the crowd, usually you're in for a long day," Shanahan said. "So you have to establish the run."

The Coolidge Colts (1-5) proved to be a rude hosts for Anacostia as the Colts got head coach Natalie Randolph her first victory of the season a 48-12 beating of the Indians, also searching for their first win.
“It feels great. We still have a lot of work to do. They [the players] needed this,” Randolph said.
Senior running back Chris Strong rushed for 4 touchdowns as the Colts cruised to their first win.
"Every week we get better." said coach Randolph. "Our goal is to eat dinner late on Thanksgiving Day, Randolph said. “ We can't be cocky with this win," she said. " Things are coming together for this team."
