Howard Sets New School Records at CCSA Championship

ATHENS, Ga. – The Howard University men’s and women’s swimming teams turned in stellar performances at the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Championship, held at the Gabrielson Natatorium in Athens, Ga.

Nzingha Murphy, Miguel Orellana and the men's 400 medley relay squad set new school marks on day one of the meet. Murphy set a new Howard record in the 50-yard freestyle. The senior finished in 23.99 in the preliminary round and went on to take eighth in the finals.

Orellana set a new HU mark in the 200 yard IM, finishing his event in 1:55.71.
The 400 yard medley relay team (Jules Graham, Shaun Armstrong, Orellana, Isaiah Allen) set a new school mark with its fourth place finish in 3:33.42.
