WPGC 95.5 in partnership with Henry’s Soul Café sponsored their 2nd Annual Toy Drive at a local D.C. shelter on Friday, Dec. 21.

Henry’s co-owner Bernard Brooks said, “So many families in our Nation’s Capital struggle to provide the necessities to their children [so] we wanted to make sure that these children have a Christmas to remember.”

Over 250 children and their parents expressed excitement posing for pictures with rapper TI while collecting holiday gifts and toys. X-Factor semifinalist Marcus Canty greeted the children and new R&B recording artist Ade sang Christmas carols.

“We have been blessed, and it’s only right that we give back to the community that has helped our business grow,” said Jermaine Smith, co-owner of Henry’s Soul Café. “We are delighted that so many celebrities joined us to distribute toys, clothing, electronics to over 500 deserving children.”
