Disgraced former Prince George's County Executive Jack Johnson has been barred from practicing law in the state of Maryland. The ruling by the Maryland Court of Appeals to disbar the Johnson, also a former Prince George's County prosecutor, was handed down Jan.27

Johnson, 63, pleaded guilty in May to felony charges surrounding a pay-to-play scheme that netted him hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes he received from developers during his eight years in office from 2002 to 2010.

He is expected to report to prison this month to begin serving a prison term that could extend three years or more.
