Millicent West has resigned as director of the District's homeland security agency, according to Loose Lips.

LL reports that West -- who oversaw the Children & Youth Trust Investment Corp. during part of the time disgraced former Ward 5 Councilman Harry Thomas embezzled public funding intended for youth sports programs -- helped (Thomas) secure more than $100,000 to pay for an inaugural celebration that was held in 2009 at the John Wilson Building in downtown D.C.

According to LL, West who was appointed by former Mayor Adrian Fenty, has denied any wrongdoing in connection to the Thomas case, and had said she thought the party was a legitimate use of the CYITC's money.
