Members of the 1000 point club, the Lady Bison all-time rebound leader and a legendary coach who led Howard University to 10 MEAC tourney titles, were among the 24 former players and coaches who were acknowledged at the Howard/North Carolina A&T women's basketball game on Sat., Jan. 31. The Lady Bison lost 67-49.

"The fact that so many former players are coming for this is especially gratifying," Howard Head Coach Niki Reid Geckeler said.

The players acknowledged include Darlene Beale Norris, who is the women's basketball all-time career rebound leader while also ranking third on the Lady Bison 1000 point club; top-five career steals leader Essence Coggins, who is fourth all-time with most 3-pointers made in a career; and Annette Lee, a member of the 1000 point club and number four on the all-time career rebounding list.
