In the win, Antawn Jamison led the Wizards with 29 points and 11 rebounds, while five of his teammates finished in double figures. "We got key stops and critical rebounds," said Interim Head Coach Ed Tapscott on the fourth quarter rally. "It allows you to push the ball down and get a flow. When you get a chance to run your offense before the defense gets set you get the defense moving and that allows you to get penetration and good shots."

We couldn't have lost this game,'' said Mike James, who scored eight of his 15 points in the fourth quarter and hit a pair of 3-pointers in the final 70 seconds. "This was a game where we were in control most of the game - and then in the third quarter, they rallied and made it a basketball game. We had to come out and solidify ourselves.'' "We kept fighting, we never gave up and we came out with a victory," said Javaris Crittenton. "It was a big win for us coming off the break and starting the season off right after the break. Being out there in the fourth quarter means a lot. (I spent my All-Star break) just studying film and trying to get better, so that definitely helped with a lot of decisions in the fourth quarter."
