Laurel, Md. Day Spa Nominated for National Award

Essential Essence Salon and Day Spa, located in Laurel, Md., was nominated for a Hoodie Award in the best nail salon category. The Hoodie Awards will be presented by the €Steve Harvey Morning Radio Show€ on Sat., Aug. 15 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev.
Essential Essence was founded by Avanette Pinkard and her mother, the late Rev. Josephine Pinkard in 1997. The salon uses a holistic approach and specializes in cosmetic hair replacement and extensions, airbrush makeup, nail enhancements, eyelash extensions, reflexology, detoxification and weight loss.
The full-service Black-owned salon has two body care rooms, two facial care rooms, a spa relaxation lounge, hand and foot treatment areas and a spa party area.
