County Executive Jack Johnson to Host Common Ownership Conference

Prince George€s County Executive Jack Johnson and Delegate Aisha Braveboy will host the 2009 Homeowners Conference, €Associations Sustaining Livable Communities€ at Prince George€s Sports & Learning Complex in Landover on Sat., May 30.

This conference presents a unique opportunity to gain important information concerning common ownership communities, as well as networking with federal, state, county and municipal officials, government agencies, industry professionals and community associations.

The goal of the conference is to educate Prince George€s County homeowners of their legal rights under the Maryland Homeowner Association Act and consumer protection laws, to offer suggestions on effectively communicating with residents, and to provide resources and references for professionals and products beneficial to their respective associations. The conference will also address pertinent issues related to the need to have reserve funds, fidelity insurance, understanding code requirements, community safety and more.

First Lady Leslie Johnson Hosts Kick-off Business and Wellness Conference

The Prince George€s County Office of Central Services Minority Business Development Division (MBDD), the Prince George€s County Small Business Initiative (SBI) and Prince George€s County Women Business Owners (WBO) united to present the Fourth Annual, €It€s All About ME!€ Women€s Business and Wellness Conference on Tues., May 19 at the newly renovated 3400 Pennsy Drive, Landover, Md. facility.

Prince George€s County€s First Lady, Leslie Johnson, welcomed conference attendees renowned presenters, specialists and wellness experts. These experts were scheduled to include Life Coach and Social Networking expert, Terri Holley, MS CPCC and Women€s Comprehensive Health Specialist, Dr. Angela Marshall, M.D. FACP.

Cardiologist/Internist, Christine M. Bussey, M.D. was scheduled to deliver the keynote address and provide attendees with facts about the unique threat of heart disease facing all women, knowing the signs and symptoms, and how to protect themselves.
