D.C. Rollergirls Season 4 Opening Bout

The D.C. Rollergirls, the District€s all-female roller derby league, began the season on Sun., Sept. 27 at the D.C. Armory. The league€s three teams - the D.C. DemonCats, Scare Force One and the Cherry Blossom Bombshells - play a total of six regular season bouts prior to the league championship bout. In addition, the D.C. All-Stars, comprised of members of all D.C. teams, will host and compete in two special non-league bouts during the season.

€It€ll be another exciting D.C. Rollergirls season at the D.C. Armory,€ said Erik A. Moses, CEO of the D.C. Sports and Entertainment Commission.

€You can€t beat the overall fan experience at Rollergirls€ bouts. There€s energy, excitement and serious competition as well. Whether you are a veteran fan or newcomer to roller derby, you don€t want to miss the great action and electric environment for this season€s bouts,€ Moses said.

On Sun., Sept. 27, the D.C. DemonCats begun defense of their 2009 title against Scare Force One, winners of league titles in 2007 and 2008. The Cherry Blossom Bombshells are seeking their first league title after falling to the DemonCats in the championship bout last season.
