The Washington Mystics dominated their opponent, Sat., June 12. The team defeated the visiting New York Liberty 82-65 before 8,492 fans at the Verizon Center in Northwest.

Monique Currie led all Mystic scorers with 20 points along with three other teammates who posted double digit totals, Crystal Langhorne (13), Lindsey Harding (13) and Matee Ajavon (11).

"We wanted to come out and be aggressive," said forward Currie, who also enjoyed a career-high six steals.

"We had a conversation among ourselves about how we need to be tougher and how we need to finish teams and put teams away. I think we were really focused on executing that," she said.

Washington had only eight turnovers against New York.

"That's been an issue for us, taking care of the ball," said Coach Julie Plank.

"I think we worked on execution and moving the ball better and putting some different sets in. I definitely think it was big to be disruptive to New York."

The Mystics will host Chicago, Sat., June 19 at 7:00 p.m.
