Historymakers Host Benefir of "Thurgood" Play at Kennedy Center

The HistoryMakers is hosting the first Washington, D.C. performance of the production "Thurgood" at the Kennedy Center 7:30 pm on Tuesday, June 1, 2010. This national non-profit organization has the important mission of highlighting the accomplishments of African Americans through videotaped interviews.
In "Thurgood," Tony Award-winning actor Laurence Fishburne reprises his Broadway role as Thurgood Marshall, the first African American to be appointed to the Supreme Court.
The HistoryMakers Board Chair Antoinette Cook Bush said, "We are thrilled to host our event at the Washington opening of this extraordinary production showcasing the extraordinary life of one of America's great Makers of History."
Julieanna Richardson, Founder and Executive Director of the HistoryMakers, will be in attendance for this show and for the special cast party at the Kennedy Center after the performance. Tax-deductible tickets for this benefit are $500.
