Support Ronald McDonald House Charities

This November 10-20, McDonald'sinvites you to celebrate McHappy Day to Support Ronald McDonald House Charities(RMHC) in local communities around the world.

Ronald McDonald Houses provide a home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children being treated at local hospitals. We have two Houses in the D.C. Metro Area: one in Washington, D.C. and one in Northern Virginia. Our Houses allow families to spend more time together when it matters most - which helps children heal better and faster.
The Washington, D.C. House welcomed its first family almost 30 years ago and the Northern Virginia House opened in 1998. Since then, our Houses have served nearly 19,000 families in crisis.

For the first time, participating McDonald's are donating a portion of the proceeds to RMHC from the sale of each Happy Meal and Mighty Kids Meal.* So now when you purchase a Happy Meal, you can give back to children and families in need each and every day of the year.

With those donations RMHC is able to continue programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children. The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, in partnership with Georgetown University Hospital, provides on the spot FREE healthcare services for thousands of under-served children in D.C.--right in their own neighborhood.

Here are a few ways your readers can participate in the McHappy Day fundraiser this year and show your support for RMHC:

- Celebrate McHappy Day: Starting November 10, visit your local participating restaurant and purchase a "Give A Hand" for $1. For each paper Hand sold between November 10-20, McDonald's will donate all proceeds to RMHC.

- Purchase a Happy Meal: Every time you purchase a Happy Meal or Mighty Kids Meal, McDonald's will now donate a portion of the proceeds to RMHC. So when you come together with your family for a meal, you can feel good knowing that you're also helping keep families together when they need it most at a Ronald McDonald House.

- Make Family Time, Happy Time: In celebration of family togetherness, McDonald's extended the in-restaurant Happy Meal fundraiser online through the sharable "Family Time. Happy Time" campaign. We invite you and your family to pledge minutes of "happy time" together via McDonald's Facebook page. McDonald's will donate one penny to RMHC for each minute pledged, with a goal of reaching 1 million minutes and $10,000 to donate towards RMHC programs.
