5th anniversary celebration includes ultimate business makeover
Every business, no matter how big or small, sometimes an extra push to take it to its next level. Generally a transformation requires a team of experts and hundreds of thousands of dollars to complete. One lucky business owner will win the opportunity for a free makeover at this year's Top 100 MBE Award Ceremony.
"Since this is our 5th anniversary, we decided to revive the reality TV show we produced five years ago", said Sharon R. Pinder, CEO, Center for Business Inclusion and Diversity, and founder of the Top 100 MBE Awards. "At the end of the award ceremony we will select one of the Top 100 award winners to receive an Ultimate Business Makeover."
A business makeover is about more than just looks. No matter how successful a business is it is always prudent to bring in outside experts who can look at a business with fresh eyes and propose new ideas or improve on the ideas that are working. The purpose of the business makeover is to assist a business owner by providing essential business services they might otherwise be unable to afford.
"We are giving the winner of the Ultimate Business Makeover a suite of services worth more than $100,000." said Pinder. "This will help the business become more competitive and marketable."
Two business owners, who were awarded similar makeovers when the TV show was aired, strongly believe the makeover was the catalyst they needed to achieve success.
"The makeover provided me the impetus to bring my business to levels I never dreamed were achievable. In two short years we went from needing a makeover to receiving millions of dollars in contracts from of the federal government", said Michelle Bell, President, 1st Choice Staffing Agency.
Errol Taylor of Charm City Catering agrees. "The level of attention my business and I received as a result of the makeover substantially increased my business. I looked and felt more professional and I was fully armed with tools for success."

These awards honor entrepreneurs from the States of Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia.

"This is our fifth year, and the program continues to grow." said Pinder, "This year we received almost 5,000 nominations. A team of distinguished judges reviewed the applications and scored the applicants based on several factors: success and innovation in their business, involvement in professional and business organizations, and the breadth of their community involvement.
The 100 individuals who scored the highest were selected as the region's Top 100 MBEs . Throughout the year our programs support the minority and women business community by providing training resources and scholarships for minority students"
In addition to honoring the region's Top 100 MBEs, awards will also given to Business Legends, Major General (Ret) Roger Blunt, CEO Essex Construction, LLC and Tony Jimenez, CEO, MicroTech.
