Team Takeover Undefeated After 3rd Round of EYBL

Team Takeover (DC) remains undefeated in the Elite Youth Basketball Leaguesponsored by the Nike Corporation. The Takeover champs captured five games in Los Angeles at the HAX athletic complex. The Takeover is the only undefeated team in the 40 team league.Game 1Takeover defeats the Howard Pulley Panthers from Minnesota 77-70. The Panthersproved to be a tough opponent for the DC based squad trailing 38-36 at the half.Syrani Charles led the Panthers with 20 points and 7 assist.

Team Takeover was lead in scoring by Jerami Grant who finished with 24 points. Arnaud Adala Moto finished his day's work with 22 points and 7 rebounds. James Robinson chipped in with 11 points and 8 rebounds The Takeover shot 59 percent from the floor to secure their first win in the third round of pool play.

Game 2

Takeover's defense held Each one Teach one (Florida) to 43 points while scoring 88 in their easiest game of the tournament. Takeover outscored the Florida-based team 53-20 in the second half led by Patrick Holloway's 34 points. Jerami Grant chipped in with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Beejay Anya controlled the boards with 10 caroms as Takeover out rebounded their opponent 47-22.

Takeover took control early in defeating Midwest power Indiana Spice 65-51. Takeover led 33-23 at the half, using their defense as a catalyst to secure their third win of the tournament.

James Robinson led all scorers with 21 points. Jerami Grant chipped in with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Arnaud Adala Moto scored 10 points as the Takeover shot 60 percent from the floor

Game 4

Takeover jumps out to a 37-13 lead over Seattle Rotary (Washingtion) and defeats the West Coast squad 65-27. Takeover holds their opponent to 17.2 percent shooting from the floor. James Robinson lead the Takeover with a triple double scoring 16 points, while grabbing 10 rebounds, and handing out 10 assist. Patrick Holloway contributed 10 points and 5 rebounds. Arnaud Adala Moto grabbed 9 rebounds while scoring 9 rebounds. It was a team effort as each player played at least 14 minutes.

In the finale, Takeover beat the King James All Stars (Ohio) 79-62 as Arnaud Adala Moto leads all scorers with 20 points and 6 rebounds. James Robinson and Patrick Holloway chipped in with 13 points, respectively. Robinson added 9 rebounds as the Takeover completed their West Coast sweep. Jerami Grant contributed 12 points and 5 assists as the Takeover defeated their Midwest foes. The Takeover will now compete in the Peach Jam Classic, where the top 24 teams in the league will vie for the 2011 championship. The finals will be held July 12-15 in North Augusta, South Carolina.
