The CONCACAF Gold Cup 2011 quarterfinals were held at RFK Stadium on Sunday, June 19, before a sellout crowd. The first doubleheader pitted Team USA against Jamaica. Team USA defeated Jamaica, 2-0, with goals from Jermaine Jones in the 49th minute and Clint Dempsey in the 80th minute. Clint Dempsey (#8) scored Team USA's second goal in the 80th minute during CONCACAF Goal Cup quarterfinal soccer action at RFK Stadium on Sunday, June 19. "We were able, from the start, to establish control," USA Head Coach, Bob Bradley said after Team USAs won its 18th consecutive game against Jamaica (10-0-8). "Ultimately, it took a while to get the goal but . . . I thought we did an excellent job." With the victory, Team USA advances to Wednesday's semifinal against Panama in Houston, Texas. Panama defeated El Salvador, 5-3, in a penalty shootout after the match finished tied at the end of regulation. / Photo by John E. De Freitas
