WASHINGTON - After less than two weeks on the job, Andrea Pringle, Mayor Vincent Gray's deputy chief of staff has resigned.

According to reports, Pringle resigned Sept. 7 in the wake of allegations surrounding her residency, voting improprieties and concerns that her consulting business, Pringle Communications might have been operating in D.C. without a license. Pringle has admitted to voting in the city while living in Maryland.

Gray, who accepted Pringle's resignation on Wednesday, said he wasn't aware of problems surrounding her prior to her appointment, according to reports.

Pringle was the first person to hold the newly-created deputy post which was designated under the Gray administration.
