DCPS officials will re-open all schools and administrative sites on Wednesday, Oct. 31. The vast majority of schools have reported they are ready to open with little or no damage from Hurricane Sandy.
Where schools have reported minor leaks, flooding, power outages or down trees, officials are working with the Department of General Services and PEPCO to ensure those schools are ready to open.
In the event that a particular school is unable to open Wednesday, an announcement will be to the media, on the DCPS website, Facebook and Twitter.
Custodians have been aked to report at 6 a.m. Wednesday, as an additional check on readiness in the event of additional rain or other issues as a result of the historic storm. All DCPS staff members are expected to report to work according to their regular schedules.
