Wireless carrier MetroPCS, which recently launched its nationwide 4G service in Baltimore, will celebrate the final days of summer break by taking over the Maryland Zoo on Aug. 20, making admission free and open to the public for the day.
More than 100 scholars from the Elev8 Baltimore program are scheduled to attend. Each of those students will receive a backpack full of supplies for the approaching school year, courtesy of MetroPCS.
Additionally, the first 200 visitors to the zoo will get to take part in MetroPCS' VIP Zoo experience, which grants them special access to an exclusive area full of refreshments and special take-home gifts.
Elev8 Baltimore partners with schools, families and the community to make sure every student is ready to succeed in school and in life.
Admission will be free at the Main Gate only. For more information, visit www.marylandzoo.org.
