D.C. United Defeat San Jose Earthquakes 1-0

D.C. United defender Chris Korb, and San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Marvin Chavez, battle for the soccer ball under the watchful eye of referee assistant Eric Boria on Saturday, June 22, at Robert F. Kennedy Stadium in Southeast. The United defeated San Jose 1-0, ending a club record 13-game losing streak. The win was the United’s second of the season and first in 105 days. San Jose, meanwhile in its second match under interim head coach Mark Watson, is now winless in five of its past six games.
