Super Asthma Day Event to Offer Health Screenings and Educational Activities
Breathe DC has partnered with Union Temple Baptist Church and doctors from Not One More Life, a national nonprofit asthma education and prevention organization, to provide valuable education to District families on proper asthma management and respiratory health.
Super Asthma Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 16 at Union Temple Baptist, located at 1225 W St. in Southeast, and will serve residents seeking answers to questions about lung health, asthma and asthma management.
"Super Asthma Day is more than a health fair," said Rolando Andrews, founder and CEO of Breathe DC, a voluntary health organization committed to improving respiratory health, located at United Medical Center. "This is a fantastic opportunity for underserved DC residents to sit down with health professionals to discuss their specific health challenges and to gain free life-saving information."
Super Asthma Day participants will receive free one-on-one counseling, spirometry screening, carbon monoxide testing, and training on asthma assessment tools and asthma management best practices.
The event is free and open to all District residents.
