The Howard Theatre announced Tuesday it is offering free tickets for several upcoming concerts to government employees amid a federal government shutdown that has left thousands on indefinite, unpaid furloughs.

The person must come to the theater's box office at 620 T St NW with a valid federal government ID.

Each person will receive one ticket, based on availability. Tickets that have already been purchased cannot be refunded.

The offer is valid for the following shows:

10/1 Michael Rose w/ Sly & Robbie

10/2 Big Boi of OutKast

10/4 Take 6

10/5 Alice Russell

Additionally, all government workers will receive 50 percent off the ticket price to Rufus featuring Sly Stone on Sunday, Oct. 6th. Those tickets must also be purchased at the box office.
