D.C. Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (D) and former SBA Deputy Administrator Marie C. Johns will be among the honorees at this year's Chamber of Commerce Awards gala.
The ceremony, which will take place Oct. 25 at the Marriott Marquis in Northwest, will also honor mega-retailer Wal-Mart; Events DC, the city's official convention and sports authority; the Disabled American Veterans and international real estate firm Hines, who is leading the development of the massive CityCenterDC project in Northwest.
Harry Wingo, Commerce president and CEO, praised Norton and Johns, the former president of Verizon Washington, as model corporate citizens who have effectively brought economic benefits to the city.
"This year's Chamber's Choices honorees embody the true meaning of leadership in the D.C. business community," Wingo said. "Each honoree deserves every bit of recognition they will receive at our annual gala."
