Attorney General Eric Holder was briefly hospitalized Thursday after falling ill during staff meeting, a Justice Department official said.
"During his regular morning meeting with senior staff, the attorney general began experiencing symptoms including faintness and shortness of breath," department spokesman Brian Fallon said in a statement. "As a precaution, the attorney general was taken to MedStar Washington Hospital Center to undergo further evaluation."
Holder was discharged early afternoon and sent home, the department said.
