For the past few years, Congressman Fauntroy, the man who organized the first historic March on Washington, has resided in a distant land, far from the church of his childhood that he later pastored for decades; far from the family and friends who love and care about him; far from the District of Columbia whose causes he championed like no other native son in the history of the nation's capital. At 82 years old, the twilight of his life, he is broken, beaten and troubled.
