Academy Award-winning actress Viola Davis, one of the most revered and decorated actresses in Hollywood, said she wants to be paid the same as Meryl Streep and other top White actresses.
Davis, who also stars in the popular TV series “How to Get Away with Murder,” said that she’s no longer hustling for her worth because she was worthy the minute she was born.
“I have a career that’s probably comparable to Meryl Streep, Julianne Moore, Sigourney Weaver,” Davis said recently at the Women in the World Salon in Los Angeles. “They all came out of Yale. They came out of Julliard, they came out of NYU. They had the same path as me, and yet, I am nowhere near them — not as far as money, not as far as job opportunities, nowhere close to it.”
