Birther Conspiracy Now Aimed at Sen. Kamala Harris

It hasn’t even been a week since Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) announced a bid for presidency in 2020 and already racists are at it with the infamous birther conspiracy theory.

The “theory” began with Trump-supporting, failed hedge fund investor and alleged thief Jacob Wohl. Wohl apparently took to Twitter to “expose” Harris as being a non-American. In a tweet, which lacked any semblance of proper punctuation, he “announced” that she was ineligible to be president.

The tweet is essentially untruthful. Although her father is Jamaican and her mother is Indian, Harris is, in fact, an American born in Oakland, Calif., on Oct. 20, 1964. Research is obviously not Wohl’s strong suit. Harris moved to Montreal when she was in middle school due to her mother’s job. A simple Google search on the requirements to be a U.S. president would have given him all the information he needed.

As it stands, the second article of the U.S. Constitution states that only a “natural-born citizen” may become the president of the United States. The 14th amendment to the US constitution elaborates on what it means to be a U.S. citizen: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside.”

It’s also important to note the meaning and importance of birthright citizenship: anyone born on U.S. soil and subject to its jurisdiction is a natural-born citizen, regardless of parental citizenship. This was determined by the Supreme Court in 1898.

This isn’t the first time Wohl has spread false information. In 2018, he was the source behind the alleged sexual assault claims against special counsel Robert Mueller. Those claims turned out to be false, as well.

  2. All of this nonsense about eligibility and other ideas that does not involve the American people is totally ludicrous. This is a country that has laws the need to be inforced. We have been around the globe fighting for so-called US interest but we cringe at the notion of enforcing our own borders. If these people are not careful, they will be the target of every kind of evil that there is. The answer to all of our problems are already recorded in the book of life. “The Bible”

  3. A natural born citizen is one born of citizens. Nothing more and nothing less. A natural born horse that impregnates a natural born donkey will produce a mule, which is not a natural born horse or donkey, but is a hybrid.

    Obama was a hybrid in multiple ways.
    Harris is also since her parents were not from the same nation.
    She is not a natural born Jamaican nor a natural born Indian.
    She’s a hybrid, and a dual citizen. No dual citizen has a right to serve as President since they are not eligible. Only Americans born of Americans are eligible. It’s that simple. Don’t complicate a simple thing. Some people are not eligible, and it’s not merely those who are naturalized by process. It is also those who were naturalized by law at birth.

    And in the citizenship arena she was born with the GIFT of common law citizenship (codified in the 14th Amendment) but not with the RIGHT of citizenship which is only possessed by those born of citizens. It is their natural birthright. No child of aliens has a natural right to membership in the foreign nation in which they produce a child. Their membership must be by gift of law, not by right of blood.
    In Japan there are presently four generations of (WWII) Koreans who have not been given the gift of citizenship because they have not sought it. They are in their own minds, and those of the Japanese, still Korean, not Japanese.
    They attend school and live lives like the Japanese but they are different by culture and history. So they are not citizens of Japan.

    Citizenship is either a right or it’s a gift. Harris has no natural right to citizenship but has a legal right to citizenship-by-law, not by nature.
