LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Don’t Forget Our Vets

I really enjoyed the story about D.C. veterans and the photo on the cover. We must do all that we can to honor our veterans and tell their stories, especially the Black ones. Issues like housing, health care and jobs must be brought to the forefront not with just lip action, but physical action, so those that served will get their just do.

Remembering Mama Africa

I can’t believe its been 10 years since Miriam Makeba has passed. As a young woman and even now, she inspired me to be proud of my roots and heritage and to love the songs of my people. She is an icon to African women and we all acknowledge her. Sleep well, “Mama Africa.”
