Wine glasses clinking and people saying “cheers” will be heard throughout the D.C. region during March for the Spring Wine Fling.
The event, sponsored by the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW), is celebrated March 1-24 at more than 25 restaurants in the metro area. Sangria is the wine drink in the spotlight this year that people will sip to welcome spring temperatures. Traditional red and white sangrias are wine-based with fruit, often with liquor or liqueur additions such as Grand Marnier, gin, vodka or rum.
“Spring Wine Fling is our way of celebrating every year as restaurants and guests look to warmer weather. We’re hoping guests will love this year’s Sangria theme, which we chose after hearing from restaurants about the increased interest they get in sangria during the spring,” said Kathy Hollinger, president and CEO of RAMW. “Each participating restaurant is offering something unique during the promotion, giving guests plenty of opportunities to explore metropolitan Washington restaurants and sip on something delicious.”
Spring Wine Fling is supported by OpenTable, the global online restaurant reservation service. A list of participating restaurants in the 2019 Spring Wine Fling is available at www.wineflingdc.com.
