Maryland Suburbs to Show Diversity in Cuisine

Silver Spring-Takoma Park Restaurant Week — an annual celebration with dozens of participating eateries — will kick off next week, showcasing Silver Spring, Takoma Park and the surrounding Montgomery County areas as one of the fastest-growing and most diverse dining scenes in the region.

The event, now in its fourth year, will be hosted by Montgomery County Councilman Tom Hucker, representing District 5 which includes Briggs Chaney, Burnt Mills, Burtonsville, Calverton, Cloverly, Colesville, Fairland, Four Corners, Hillandale, Lyttonsville, Silver Spring, Takoma Park and White Oak.

The six-day celebration, which will include 33 establishments, highlights the variety of dining options available in the greater Silver Spring area and Takoma Park communities.

Participating restaurants will offer diners special two- and three-course menus at special prices from Tuesday, Sept. 4 through Sunday, Sept. 9.

Diners can select from a range of prices and meal courses. Prices do not include tax and tip. Some prices may include drinks. No tickets or special passes are needed but reservations are recommended.

Price choices include:

$12 two-course lunch menu
$17 three-course lunch menu
$17 two-course dinner menu
$27 three course dinner menu
